OSAKA UNIV. CBCMP

OSAKA UNIVERSITY CHEMISTRY - BIOLOGY COMBINED MAJOR PROGRAM

Program

Like all undergraduate programs at Osaka University, the CBCMP course is divided between General Education and Major subjects. General Education subjects include not only liberal studies subjects, such as Critical Thinking, and Presentation Skills, but also Japanese Languages courses as well as introductory-level courses in the core sciences: Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry. Major subjects cover more specialized sub-fields, such as Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic & Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Genetic Engineering, as well as Research topics.

Course work is evaluated in credits, with each credit being calculated as being approximately equal to 15 weeks of study at 3 hours per week, counting both in-class and out-of-class work.

General Education Subjects

Japanese language cource

In our program, Japanese language courses are designed to help you develop an ability to use Japanese practically. Our students study basic to advanced Japanese (conversation, grammar, reading, writing and so on) during the first 4 semesters as compulsory subjects. Instructors will assign each student to a class of suitable level depending on their Japanese ability. Soon you will be speaking with friends on the campus in Japanese!
